Utilities You Can Use

Leopard has a bunch of useful utilities. Airport Utility for when you purchase a new base station, Migration Assistant for moving data over to a new computer, System Profiler to check the specifications of your computer. These are awesome, but you don’t need to use them on a day to day basis and if you have technical assistance, you may never need to use them at all. In the above article, Nancy Gravley lists a few utilities that might come in handy on a regular basis.
Keychain is awesome. Whenever you enter a password, your computer should ask you if you’d like to save it to your keychain. It will save all of your log-in information and you can view your passwords if you need them later, by looking up them in your keychain and getting your login password to unlock the data.
Disk Utility is also very useful from a technical perspective and you can repair the permissions yourself, as Gravely explains. It is also something Best Macs will do if you are having trouble with your hard drive.
I have never used DigitalColor Meter, until reading this article, so I do not have much to say about it. I’m not detail-oriented enough to match the colors in my photos perfectly.
But, Grab, on the other hand, is awesome. You can always take a screen shot by doing command-shift-3, but I really like having the option of Grab. You can use it to capture a specific window or a selection on your computer. I recommend using Grab if you are having issues or getting an error message and would like to ask Best Macs about it. Take a screenshot of the message and you can create a ticket about it in BOM. The more information you can prove us about the problem, the easier and quicker it is for us to solve.
