Apple Working to Resolve Snow Leopard Bug
Posted on October 13th, 2009 No commentsIf you haven’t heard yet a bug has recently be discovered for users who have upgraded to Snow Leopard. The bug occurs if you log into a Guest account after upgrading to Snow Leopard, what happens is that the computer will lag and all of the user data on the computer will be deleted. This bug only occurs for users who have a Guest account activated and log into it after upgrading to Snow Leopard from Leopard. This is not something to be overly worried about as Apple has commented that it only occurs in extremely rare cases but it is important to educate yourselves about possible bugs.
In order to best avoid this it is suggested that if you use a Guest account to postpone it’s usage until Apple releases the fix that they are reportedly working on. Alternatively, it has been noted that if you turn off the Guest account setting and then re-enable that the issue will not occur however, I would use extreme caution regarding use of the Guest account until Apple officially releases a fix.
Until then remember to back-up all of your important data and stay tuned to either bestmacs.com or other news source for news of Apple’s fix for this bug to be released.
