About BestMacs

BestMacs was founded in November of 1999.  Our mission was simple: bring world-class Macintosh support services to Northeast Kansas and Kansas City.  In our view that means innovative, reliable solutions; fast, accurate diagnosis of problems; hassle-free product recommendations and installs; friendly, personable service; and speaking to our customers in a language they understand, without condescending overtones.  We continue to reach for our mission today …and in our tenth year, taking it to a new level!

Meet the Team

Brian J Best - The names give it away, so, you may have guessed that BestMacs is Brian’s brainchild.  Brian got his first taste of the Mac in the 7th grade, playing with MacPaint on an SE running system 6.  It was destined from there.  Brian’s current role at BestMacs is to guide the future growth and direction of the company, be escalation support and ongoing training to BestMacs’ technicians, and provide big-picture planning and consultations to our clients. When not working, Brian favors staying at home with wife Candi and their son Jack, eating BBQ, and watching Chiefs football.

Jacob Paquette - Jacob has been with BestMacs for nearly 2 years starting out in the basement office and moving to onsite technician and consultant. He has been involved with computers since he was very young. When he isn’t working on a Mac, Jacob enjoys cycling, and watching any and every movie he can get his hands on. He and his wife Becca live in Lawrence with their two dogs and two cats.

Josh Paquette - Josh is a consultant and technician for BestMacs. He started working with BestMacs in August of ’08 doing in-house repairs but has since become an all-time onsite technician. Josh got started late in the Mac world and did not own his first Macbook Pro until October of 2008, however he has a history of building and fixing home made computers. He will be finishing up his BS in Organismal Biology at KU this spring and in his spare time enjoys tinkering with computers and playing soccer.

Jamie Davis – As the newest member of the BestMacs team, Jamie’s role is simply customer service and organization. It is her goal to keep you, the client, happy and the team on task. However, you should know that she is not what one would call “tech savvy”! In fact, she will be chronicling her adventures right here as she learns and grows in the Mac world.  When she is not with a customer, she is rocking baby, coloring with big sis, or playing outside. She is the proud mama of two little girls, May (4months) and Greta (5years), but she likes to say she has five kids including her husband, Clint, and two dogs!

Megen “Not Nurse Ratched” Duffy – Megen got her first Mac in 1995 and has been a fan ever since. A forced user of Windows for several years because of work-related requirements, she returned to the fold with the advent of Intel-based Macs. A user of the Internet since the early days of Kermit and Telnet, she continues to prowl the Internet looking for existing and emerging applications of technology, productivity, and social media, especially as they relate to mobile use on the iPhone platform.
